A dude with a computer. Or something.

The transformation of media is danged entertaining.

My friend Mike Arrington, head man at the superb TechCrunch, has in very short order established himself as a voice of authority in evaluating Web 2.0 companies.  He's being treated like a journalist by the PR community, one of whom (some of Yahoo's flacks) subjected him to an embargo until 9:00 PT last night on a story about Yahoo's new maps application.

Mike wants to know if anyone knows he's just a dude with a computer.  And a media credential.
