Jeff Risley

I had the same reaction when I read this. It's the lack-of-a-purple-cow syndrom. What's remarkable about Kansas? Answer that, and maybe we'll improve leisure travel.

I actually worked in the Kansas travel and tourism industry for a short time as the Director of the Emporia convention and visitor's bureau, so I understand the challenge of selling this State (at least a little chunck of it).

I've lived in Kansas almost my entire life, and I've seen these campaigns come and go, usually with a Governor that wants to appease the T&T lobby or make their mark. When the word you're most associated with is "flat," a slogan ain't gonna change that. Let's just hope Callahan Creek has deep research and a kick-ass strategy up their sleeve.
